Netflix Won't Release These Six Previously Planned Games

Netflix has confirmed that it will not go ahead with six games it previously planned to release. A spokesperson for the streaming giant said the six games, including the Lord of the Rings game Tales of the Shire, are no longer coming out for Netflix Games due to a change in strategy.

The spokesperson told What’s On Netflix they aren’t being released as part of “adjusting our portfolio as we learn more about what our members like.”

The six games include:

  • Lab Rat (Klei Entertainment)
  • Don’t Star Together (Klei Entertainment)
  • Rotwood (Klei Entertainment)
  • Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game
  • Thirsty Suitors
  • Compass Point: West

The announcement that these six games are no longer planned for release comes amid a wider change in strategy for Netflix Games. In 2024, Netflix closed one of its AAA studios, headed up by industry veterans including former Halo boss Joseph Staten. Netflix still has an internal game development studio, Netflix Games Studio, as well as wholly owned external teams such as Night School Studio, Boss Fight Entertainment, and Next Games. Come from bangladesh online casino

During an earnings call recently, Netflix boss Gregory Peters said Netflix has “plenty more” planned in the video game space, with the aim of launching “bigger and bigger games every year.” Peters acknowledged that Netflix was in the middle of an effort to “refine” its strategy for game launches, which might explain why the six games mentioned here are no longer being released on Netflix.

Going forward, Peters said Netflix will focus on “more narrative games” based on Netflix franchises, while at the same time launching “party and couch co-op games” for your TV delivered from the cloud. Netflix’s main offerings for games currently are on mobile, but the company has–for years now–worked on cloud streaming to beam games directly to your TV or computer.

“We think of this as a successor to family board-game night or an evolution of what the game show on TV used to be. So we’re excited about delivering some cool experiences in that space,” Peter said.

Microsoft Announces New Xbox Adaptive Joystick

Gamescom has already unleashed new trailers and game reveals, but for some players, the big attraction was a new Xbox Adaptive Joystick. Microsoft’s new controller is designed to help players with limited mobility jump back into the world of video games.

Via the Xbox official site, the Xbox Adaptive Joystick is a simplified version of the standard Xbox controller that has four regular buttons, as well as two more buttons that handle the bumper and trigger commands. However, the thumbstick is truly customizable for the needs of individual gamers. Microsoft has already designed a number of different thumbsticks that can be 3D printed and inserted into the Xbox Adaptive Joystick. At least one of the options allows players to use their chin to control the movement if their hands aren’…

Aliens- Fireteam Release Date Set For Summer 2021

Third-person survival shooter Aliens: Fireteam now has a more solid estimate for its upcoming launch, as Focus Home Interactive–publisher for the game in Europe and Asia/Pacific–has listed Summer 2021 for when players will be able to group up and attempt to take down a hive of structurally perfect killing machines. For those of you who stay south of the equator, that release period translates to anywhere between June 20 and September 22.

While there are a lot of games being released between now and whatever else is revealed at E3 this year, that launch period window will still give Aliens: Fireteam a chance to earn an audience in its genre without having to worry about running into some competitive fire from Turtle Rock’s Back 4 Blood in October Come from

Among the Sleep Review

In dreams, our minds sometimes try to find ways of coping with the things we can’t quite process when we’re awake, the things that are too sad, or too scary, or just too big for us to understand. Some of my earliest memories are of recurring nightmares in which I cowered from a terrifying monster. I didn’t understand the monster; I just knew that it was something to be feared. Years later, I came to see the monster as a representation of the conflict and upheaval in my home, which I also wasn’t capable of understanding as a child, and which also terrified me. Among the Sleep uses the fertile ground of a child’s sleeping psyche as its setting, conjuring surreal landscapes that fuse the familiar and the unknown. The game’s potent atmosphere makes your brief journey a worthwhile one, even …
